Achievement for all
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
It was a terrifying Tuesday in Venus when the class was filled with all kinds of spooky monsters. Fortunately, they were all friendly! We have enjoyed reading The Witches this half term and this week we have written missing posters, book reviews and our own formulas to turn The Witches into something new. In the woods, we collected items to put in our formula and gave them magical names and powers.
Mercury have been celebrating the fabulous Carnival-traditions of Trinidad by making their own headdresses, baking Trini sponge cake, tasting rotis and tropical fruits, listening to Calypso music and competing in their own limbo contest. What a fabulous end to a fabulous half term! Mrs Erskine is very proud of their positive attitudes since returning to school and is looking forward to more of the same after the half term break.
The usual children in Jupiter were replaced by witches, skeletons, pumpkins, Dracula and more scary characters on Tuesday. We enjoyed some ‘Monster moves’, decorated pumpkin pictures and made Halloween decorations for the classroom.
Today, children in Mars made pumpkin soup! We cut up the pumpkins and onions very carefully and were super at following instructions. We also made our own bread buns to dip in to our soup! It smelled and tasted delicious!
Venus have been writing and performing their own autumn poems. We have also enjoyed making beautiful collage and origami leaves.
This week in Jupiter we have been reading the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We thought of some adjectives to describe the characters in the story. Everyone agreed that Goldilocks is a naughty character as she went into a house that didn’t belong to her, ate all Baby Bear’s porridge and broke his chair! We created a ‘WANTED’ poster that the Three Bears could put in the woods to try find out who the girl in their house was.
