  Today Saturn started to play the ukulele. Everyone enjoyed learning the different chords.

  

• Welcome to our Woodland Store!

  This week, Mercury took their maths learning outdoors by setting up their own Woodland Store. They chose the items which they wanted to ‘sell’ then added their own price tags. They were then given shopping challenges, such as seeing how many items they could buy with a certain amount of money, or how near to a budget they could get. Everybody was looking at decimals in a whole new light!

  This week Jupiter have worked hard to complete their weekly challenges. We have also explored numbers to 10 and completed some super spelling.

  

• Natural masterpieces

  Amazing natural artwork created by Mercury this afternoon. I was so impressed with the way that they thought carefully about their work, worked together and gave each other positive feedback. A lovely end to week 3.

  

• Cupcakes!

  We have all enjoyed our delicious cupcakes today in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. A huge thank you to Mrs McCubbin in our school kitchen Orian Solutions for baking them for us!
  We would normally support this worthwhile charity (who have supported so many of us in different ways) each year by hosting a coffee morning and asking all of our parents and community members to join us. Unfortunately, we have been unable to do so this year due to the Covid restrictions in place. To allow us to still support one of our regular charities, at such a difficult time we asked for donations. So far, we have raised over £120 which will be sent directly to Macmillan Cancer Care – thank you! Any further donations can be added to the total via your Lunchshop account by close of day tomorrow. Any amount will be gratefully received.

  

• Neptune’s Fun in the Woods!

  On Tuesday afternoon, Neptune made the most of the sunshine by venturing out in to the woods for some forest school team building skills!

  This week, Mercury have been practising their catching and striking skills in rounders, and even had a Positivity Snowball fight (you’ll have to ask them about it)

  

• A wonderful week for Venus!

  Venus have settled back into school brilliantly and have worked very hard this week. We have made the most of the good weather and enjoyed some fun outdoor activities.

   

  We read the story ‘Elmer and the Monster’ by David McKee and them went out into the woods to build a home for Bloo-Bloo the monster from the story.
