Yesterday, all children in KS1 and KS2 were treated to a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu taster session with coaches from the Blaydon Grapplers. It was fantastic fun, but also brilliant to learn about the different holds and throws. All children were given a flyer to bring home, showing the session times at their new base of Blaydon Rugby Club. We look forward to hearing which children have joined the club.
In Science, Venus have been investigating whether different objects can change shape. We explored if we can squash it, bend it, twist it and stretch it.
Neptune had a lovely morning exploring the Science of Sound with their parents. The children shared a poem which they wrote together, based on the Sound Collector by Roger McGough, and investigated the ways that different instruments make and change sounds. Thanks to all who could join us!
Neptune class have been practising their dynamic balancing, mounts and dismounts in gymnastics this week.
This morning we welcomed parents and grandparents of the children in Venus for their class showcase. They created 3D maps of our walk around the local area yesterday. Both children and adults thoroughly enjoyed the activity. Look at their fantastic maps!
