Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This week in Earth we have been exploring lots of different kinds of magnets. We explored what a magnetic field was and used iron fillings to see its shape. We then tested materials to see if they were magnetic or not and created our own experiment to test a magnets strength!
In Literacy, Neptune have been reading Christophe's Story. In our outdoor learning session, we asked the children to recreate the scene of being a refugee. They focused on the journey they would have to take to get to a safe country. This included looking at the thoughts and feelings of Christophe that were previously discussed in our lesson.
Today Jupiter have been identifying fruits and vegetables. We learnt that to identify a fruit it must have seeds so we had lots of examples to explore and sort. After sorting the fruits by deciding which ones did have seeds and finding the vegetables which didn’t have seeds, we also got to taste some of them!
Mercury have enjoyed lots of Spring activities throughout their last week of term. On Monday, they had a full day of arts and crafts, decorating Easter cards and making Easter nests. Today, Year 6 participated in an egg hunt in the woods. We are all full to the brim of chocolate 🍫 although some in class would say otherwise!
Yesterday, Earth class enjoyed many activities, we started the day with an Easter egg hunt in the woods and then completed a ‘spring around the world’ quiz. In the afternoon, we enjoyed creating and decorating our own eggs. It was a fun day had by all and spring has definitely sprung in Earth!
Year 4 enjoyed a range of activities yesterday to celebrate the start of the Spring season.
