Saturn enjoyed learning about air resistance. Mrs McCue challenged the children to make parachutes for a skydiving company. In groups, the children made three different parachutes. They then recorded which fell the slowest. This helped the children understand that air resistance can slow things down. Here the air resistance was helpful because it slowed the parachute and this was useful for the skydiving company.
Earth participated in their first pedestrian training session this afternoon, we discussed the four rules of the green cross code and practiced them by crossing the road safely.
Yesterday afternoon, Earth attended Kingsmeadow for an orienteering competition. The afternoon was packed full with activities and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Congratulations to Washingwell Team B who came in third place and a massive well done to all who participated!
