Achievement for all
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This week marked Chinese New Year. In Jupiter we learnt all about the traditions behind the festival. We made our own lanterns and hung them up in the classroom. We also found out that this is the year of the tiger so our story challenge this week for National Storytelling Week was The Tiger Who Came To Tea! 🐯
Over the last few weeks, Neptune have been practising their basketball skills in PE. We ended the lesson with a mini tournament in preparation for some of the children attending a basketball tournament this week with Mrs Mustard.
Year 6 had a fantastic trip to the Centre for Life today, exploring the space zone and taking part in the space survival workshop. We all learned lots about space and the importance of ice to help protect our planet. We watched a scientist perform different experiments (some which appeared very dangerous) and we also took part in replacing a satellite using robots, just like they would at the International Space Station. Poor Miss Bainbridge got chosen (by the majority of the class) to be the volunteer in an experiment, oh no 🤦♀️😂 so, on that note... double literacy for Mercury tomorrow!
Venus are learning about the properties of 3d shapes. We have been learning about the number of faces, edges and vertices that each shape has. We have also made our own 3d shapes.
