Venus used natural materials to make self-portraits this week. Can you see which objects we chose to make each part of our face?
In Science we have been learning all about different materials and their properties. This week we met Lion and Panda who keep getting wet when it is raining outside! So we decided to test some materials to see if they are waterproof so we could decide which one they could use as an umbrella. We had to test if Lion and Panda stayed dry even when we sprayed water at the material. We made sure it was a fair test by using the same amount of water and spraying from the same place every time.
Mercury class have been exploring still-life by looking at some Caribbean artwork focused around tropical fruit. We discussed the use of vivid colour and tone before having a go at replicating some pieces. We drew the basic shapes using pencil, added bold outline using black pen, then used oil pastels to give the vivid colours. I’m sure you’ll agree, there were some fantastic attempts!
This week in Computing, Neptune have been exploring how branching databases work. We had a lot of fun working with our partner to generate suitable yes/no questions to sort different sets of objects.
