Request for Leave of Absence during Term Time

Please complete this online form if you are requesting time away from Washingwell Community Primary School for your child due to exceptional circumstances. 



Please note: The 2013 amendments to the 2006 regulations make clear that Head Teachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances and that Head Teachers should determine the number of school days a child can be away from school if the leave is granted. By submitting the form, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the information about Leave of Absence during term time, unauthorised absence and Penalty Notices.  Although such absence may be unauthorised, it is better that we know your child is safe, rather than missing.

The national threshold for issuing penalty notices is 10 unauthorised sessions, within a rolling 10 school week period.
